What The Abbotsford Canucks Need To Do To Win Game 5 Against The Colorado Eagles
With a 6–2 win against Denmark earlier today, Pettersson and Team Sweden have officially placed third in the 2025 World Championship. This comes after the team lost 6–2 to the USA during the semifinals. This is Sweden’s second bronze medal in a row, as they also placed third last year after winning 4–2 against Canada in the bronze medal game. In today’s bronze medal matchup, Pettersson recorded a rating of +3 and played 17:59 of the game. The Canuck finishes this year’s tournament with four assists in 10 games played.
The gold medal game was a tight one for USA and Switzerland, with the lone goal of the game being scored in overtime. USA forward Tage Thompson scored a little over two minutes into overtime to help the USA to their first IIHF gold medal since 1933. Garland had the opportunity to open the scoring with a penalty shot, but ultimately did not convert. He played 17:37 of regulation and had one shot on net. Fellow Canuck O’Connor 9:48 played in regulation and also had one shot on net.
