Lineup Notes: Jacob Quillan To Make Canucks Debut Against Former Team, Meriläinen Starts Against Maple Leafs

The Vancouver Canucks will take part in a Halloween matinee when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs at 4:00 pm PT. They’ll be undergoing some changes to their forward lineup due to Filip Chytil being placed on IR. Here are the lineup notes for October 31, 2026.

The big story is Vancouver’s change-up down their forward lines as a result of Chytil’s most recent IR placement. They re-called former Maple Leaf Jacob Quillan in Chytil’s place, with Quillan projected to center Vancouver's third-line in his season debut for the Canucks. Brendan Gallagher and Luke Schenn will also draw back into the lineup.

In net tonight for the Canucks is goaltender Leevi Meriläinen. This will be Meriläinen’s fourth-consecutive start and 11th total game played throughout the 2026–27 season thus far. He’s currently sporting a 3.33 GAA and .898 SV%. He recorded his last win on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks.

Projected Lineup:

DeBrusk – Pettersson – Boeser

O'Connor – Rossi – Lekkerimäki

Öhgren – Quillan – Karlsson

Cotter – Sasson – Gallagher

Pettersson – Hronek

Oleksiak – Willander

Buium – Schenn
