Nikita Zadorov, Artūrs Šilovs and J.T. Miller stepped up for the Vancouver Canucks in their Game 5 loss.
Despite scoring first, the Vancouver Canucks fell 2-1 in Game 5 to the Nashville Predators. While many players had strong games, Nikita Zadorov, Artūrs Šilovs and J.T. Miller, all stood out thanks to their impressive performances. Here is a breakdown of why they were the Canucks' three stars from Game 5.
1st Star: Nikita Zadorov
It was a big night for the man they call "Big Z." On top of scoring Vancouver's only goal, Zadorov finished the night with four hits while recording 21:10 of ice time. A physical presence throughout the game, he made the Predators pay anytime they crashed the net.
2nd Star: Artūrs Šilovs
Šilovs had a strong game in what was his second career playoff start. He stopped 20 of 22 shots while managing his rebounds and looking confident in the net. Despite the loss, he was a bright spot and showed that he can perform under pressure at the NHL level.
3rd Star: J.T. Miller
Once again, Miller was all over the stat sheet. He led the team with five hits, blocked two shots, and was credited with two takeaways in 22:21 of ice time. Miller has arguably been the Canucks best player all series and continues to lead by example shift after shift.
