Vancouver Canucks All-Star forward J.T. Miller finally reveals why he hasn't played in the pre-season.
The Canucks have played in five pre-season games, and Miller has yet to feature in any game despite participating in practice. When asked by the media if he's dealing with an injury, the forward did not reveal much.
"[I've] just kind of been taking care of something and not forcing it," Miller said. "We've had the luxury of having some time over the last two weeks, so I'm just trying to be smart."
Miller will make his pre-season debut on Friday against the Edmonton Oilers.
Latest From THN's Vancouver Canucks Site:
"There are certain things that I want him to be ready for," Canucks head coach Rick Tocceht said. "He came in great shape, and I just didn't want to jeopardize a couple other things. It's not injury [related]. I don't think he's ever had a bad practice, and he's pushing the pace out there, so I'm not worried about it."
Miller led the Canucks in scoring last season with 103 points (37 goals, 66 assists). He will need another big year if Vancouver wants to repeat as Pacific Division champions.
