Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports - BREAKING: Canucks Extend Tyler Myers For Three Years

The Vancouver Canucks announced they have signed defenseman Tyler Myers for three years with an AAV of $3 million.

Myers had five goals and 24 assists in 74 games for the Canucks this season. He was headed for free agency, but the two sides came together to reach an agreement.

“Tyler has been a valued member of our organization, and we are very happy to have him back with our team,” GM Patrik Allvin said in a statement. “He brings a unique skillset to the ice and is a key member of our leadership group. Tyler is a big, strong, physical defenceman who fits in nicely on our backend.”

Myers is a big defenseman who has struggled defensively at times but has found a smart spot in the defense core on the third pair.
