After weeks of speculation, the Vancouver Canucks announced Friday that there has been a start time change for the November 17 home game against the Nashville Predators. Originally scheduled for 5:00 pm P.T., the game will now start at 7:00 pm P.T. The change was needed as it clashed with the 111th Grey Cup, which is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm P.T. next door at BC Place.

With over 45,000 Grey Cup tickets sold, the time change was a smart move by the Canucks as it will allow fans to attend both games. The shift will also ensure that both events do not conclude at the same time, which would have created a nightmare situation in downtown Vancouver. Even if the Grey Cup is not finished by 7:00 pm P.T., fans will at least get to see the Jonas Brothers perform at halftime before making the trip next door to Rogers Arena.

The November 17 will be a special one for Vancouver as it is the first time they will play Nashville since their first-round series win in the 2024 Stanely Cup Playoffs. It will also be the first time Canucks fans get to see Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault in Predators jerseys after the club signed the Stanley Cup Champions this offseason. Between the Grey Cup Festival and multiple games, including Connor Bedard's first visit to Vancouver, which is scheduled for November 16, the weekend should be an exciting time in downtown Vancouver.
