Reports are saying that Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko has picked up an injury and could miss the rest of the first round.

Reports are saying that Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko has picked up an injury and could miss the rest of the first round.

Frank Seravalli reports that he is out for game two tonight, backing up Elliotte Friedman's initial report of Demko being questionable for the remainder of the series against the Nashville Predators.

Demko missed some time at the end of the season with a lower-body injury. The Canucks played the long game and took their time in his recovery process to ensure he was 100% for the postseason.

Demko the Canucks unquestioned No. 1 goalie, and if he is to miss the remainder of the series, it is a significant blow. He made 22 saves during the Game 1 victory. Casey DeSmith will likely be the starting goalie for as long as Demko remains out of the lineup.

Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed to reporters that this injury is not related to his previous injury.

There is no clear timeline for when he might return. The Canucks are considering Demko day-to-day, but he is questionable for games 3-7. He's been officially ruled out for tonight's game.
