The Abbotsford Canucks went 4-3-1 against the Colorado Eagles during the regular season.

After finishing fifth in the Pacific Division, the Abbotsford Canucks will face off against the Colorado Eagles in the first round of the 2024 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs. As the Eagles finished ahead of the Canucks, Colorado will have home-ice advantage for all three games of the first-round series. This season, Abbotsford went 4-3-1 against the Eagles, recording 22 goals while allowing 20 against in the eight games.
One key for Abbotsford heading into this series will be special teams. During the season, the Canucks had a 96.3% penalty kill rate against Colorado, which was the highest they had against a team in the AHL this season. On the flip side, they need to find a way to score on the power play, as their 13.3% success rate against the Eagles is concerning. Overall, if Abbotsford can find a way to win the special teams battle, it will go a long way in advancing past the second round for the second year in a row.
Lastly, one player to keep an eye on in the series will be Linus Karlsson. The 24-year-old had four goals and eight points against Colorado this season while also averaging 2.75 shots per game. Karlsson, who enters the series on a three-game goal streak, will be looked upon to lead the team offensively as he has all year.
First Round Series Schedule:
Game 1: Wednesday, April 24 @ 6:05 pm PT
Game 2: Friday, April 26 @ 6:05 pm PT
*Game 3: Sunday, April 28 @ 2:05 pm PT
All games will be played at Blue FCU Arena in Loveland, Colorado
