Canucks forward Filip Chytil missed Vancouver's practice on Friday and is currently being re-evaluated for a previously-sustained upper-body injury.
The Vancouver Canucks were without forward Filip Chytil during their practice out at UBC earlier today.
During Vancouver's practice, a Canucks spokesperson informed media that Chytil was not at practice as he was being re-evaluated for a re-aggravated upper-body injury. Notably, this was the upper-body injury that he sustained in his first pre-season game of the year, preventing him from starting the 2026-27 season on September 29.
According to Canucks Head Coach Manny Malhotra, Chytil will not be playing tomorrow and is continuing to be evaluated.
Chytil's injury history has been very well-documented since he arrived in Vancouver back in February of 2025. He has skated in a total of 34 games since being acquired by the Canucks and has skated in seven games so far to start the 2026-27 season.
Since returning from his pre-season injury, Chytil has taken on a much bigger role than those he has had in previous years. He is currently averaging 19:53 minutes played per game and has skated in 20 or more minutes in three of his past four games.
