Vancouver visits Pittsburgh for the only time this season.

The Vancouver Canucks (27-11-3) will look to extend their win streak to four games as they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins (20-15-4) on Thursday night. This has been a matchup the Penguins have owned the past few seasons, going 5-2 in their last seven games. As for Vancouver, they will be looking for their first win in Pittsburgh since 2018, when Brock Boeser scored the overtime winner in a 3-2 victory.

One of the biggest storylines going into this game will be the Canucks apparent interest in Jake Guentzel. According to multiple reports, Vancouver is interested in adding an additional player to their top six, with Guentzel being one of the names mentioned. The pending unrestricted free agent has ties to the Canucks in Jim Rutherford, Patrik Allvin and Rick Tocchet. At the same time, this management group has shown a tendency to add players they are familiar with. While the trade deadline is still over a month away, today's game will be a perfect opportunity for fans in Vancouver to imagine what a lineup that includes Guentzel may look like.

Players to Watch

Brock Boeser

Boeser loves playing against the Penguins. In nine games against Pittsburgh, he has eight goals and 12 points in nine games and scored his first career hat trick against the Penguins back in 2017. With the lotto line clicking as they have the last three games, do not be surprised if he adds to his goal total against the Penguins.

Sidney Crosby

This may be an obvious one, but Canucks fans should take a step back and really appreciate what Sidney Crosby has been able to do this season. The 36-year-old is on pace to record his 19th straight point per game season and is just one goal shy of tying Mike Bossy for 22nd on the all-time goals list. He is one of the greatest players in NHL history; he is aging like fine wine and will be looking to break a two-game pointless streak tonight.
