    Vancouver Canucks prospect Jackson Dorrington has been named the Hockey East Defender Of The Week. He finished the week with a goal, two assists, four shots on net and four blocked shots. Dorrington's strong play also helped Northeastern University defeat Boston College, the third-ranked team in the NCAA, this past week.

    Drafted by the Canucks 176th overall in 2022, Dorrington has developed into a leader for the Huskies. He was named an assistant captain at the start of the year and is tied for the team lead with 20 blocked shots. Currently, in his third year at Northeastern University, he was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team for the last two years and was named the Huskies Unsung Hero for the 2023-24 season. 

    Through 11 games this season, Northeastern University has a 2-6-3 record, with wins coming against Stonehill College and Boston College. The Huskies have two tournaments upcoming, with the Ledyard National Bank Classic scheduled for the end of December and the Beanpot in early February. Projected to play his 100th NCAA game later this season, Dorrington has 23 points and 100 blocked shots in 79 career games with Northeastern University.
