Canucks Tocchet Provides Injury Updates on Pettersson, Chytil & Höglander

Pettersson and Höglander were injured on the recent six-game road trip, while Chytil hasn't played since March 15. As for practice on Tuesday, Höglander was on the ice in a non-contact jersey while Pettersson and Chytil were absent.

Starting with Pettersson, Tocchet revealed that it was an upper-body injury and said the injury occurred, "It was a corner on a battle." Pettersson's injury happened during the Canucks 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers on March 22, which caused him to miss the final four games of the road trip. Tocchet also said that Pettersson "Skated, I think once or twice didn't skate that hard, a little bit of discomfort" while listing him as day-to-day.
As for Chytil, Tocchet said, "Does he play this year? I mean, maybe the odds are against it. Plus, you don't want to put a guy in that type of position. But when a guy has good days and bad days, you're not going to play the guy." Chytil is dealing with a concussion which occurred late in Vancouver's 6-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Lastly, Tocchet spoke about Höglander, who, as mentioned, was at practice on Tuesday. Tocchet said, "This guy wants to play so bad. He's got a red jersey, which is a good thing, but, you know, obviously no contact. Is he close? He's closer, I guess, than the other guys."
The Canucks are back in action Wednesday when they face the Seattle Kraken. This has turned into a must-win game for Vancouver as they are currently battling for a playoff spot. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 pm PT from Rogers Arena.
