Jonathan Lekkerimäki has been selected to participate in the 14th annual NHLPA Rookie Showcase. The event, which is scheduled to take place in Arlington, Virginia, on Sept. 4, is run by Upper Deco and used to photograph rookies for trading cards. This will be the first time in five years a Vancouver Canucks prospect has attended the showcase, with the last prospect being Quinn Hughes in 2019.

Lekkerimäki had a year to remember in 2023-24. He won multiple awards, including World Juniors MVP and Swedish Junior Hockey Player of the Year, thanks to a 19-goal, 31-point SHL campaign with Örebro HK last year. The Canucks 2022 first-rounder also made his AHL debut, playing six games with the Abbotsford Canucks.
