The Vancouver Canucks appear to have dodged an injury scare. After leaving Saturday's game after the second period, defenceman Elias Pettersson was at practice on Sunday. Pettersson required help coming off the ice on Saturday and was seen not putting any weight on his leg at the time.
On Saturday, there was some mystery surrounding the injury. While Pettersson did return briefly after getting hurt, he was not on the bench for the third period. On Sunday, Pettersson gave a little more detail about the situation.
"Yeah, I got banged up yesterday, said Pettersson. The guys in there held me back. So, yeah, everything is fine."
Pettersson also added, "I just smashed my knee into the board. So did a scan this morning, and everything was fine."
Head Coach Adam Foote also spoke about what happened to Pettersson on Saturday, saying, "You know, they did the right thing. They want to make sure that it wasn't nothing deep. And he felt pretty good out there today."
