Filip Chytil did not return to the bench to start the second period.
The injury bug appears to have hit the Vancouver Canucks yet again. During their pre-season home opener against the Edmonton Oilers, Filip Chytil suffered an upper-body injury and did not return to the bench at the start of the second period. Chytil's last shift ended with 5:06 left in the first when he collided with referee Riley Brace and went shoulder-first into the boards.
Chytil is coming off an injury-riddled 2025-26 season. He played just 12 games after suffering a head injury early in the campaign. Since being acquired on January 31, 2025, Chytil has played 27 games for the Canucks while recording nine points.
