Bo Horvat has been named captain of the Vancouver Canucks.
A familiar face to Vancouver Canucks fans will be wearing the "C" for the New York Islanders during the 2026-27 season. On Monday, the Islanders announced that former Canucks center Bo Horvat had been named the 16th captain in franchise history. Horvat also wore the "C" for Vancouver from 2019-23.
This is not the first time that a former Canucks captain has worn the "C" on Long Island. After being dealt to the Islanders in the late 90s, Trevor Linden was also named captain of the historic franchise. Linden's time with New York was short, as he played just 107 games with the Islanders.
Horvat has spent the last three and a half years with New York. He has played 260 games, with a stat line of 99 goals, 99 assists and 198 points. Before the trade, Horvat spent the first 621 games with Vancouver, where he recorded 201 goals, 219 assists and 420 points
