Abbotsford Canucks defenceman Nick Cicek is headed to Germany for the 2024-25 season. Acquired by the Vancouver Canucks back in December, Cicek has signed a contract with Adler Mannheim of the DEL. Cicek played 49 regular season games with Abbotsford this season, recording 13 points and 52 penalty minutes. Cicek was an unrestricted free agent this offseason after not being qualified by Vancouver ahead of July 1.

Cicek brought stability and physicality to the Canucks lineup last season. He was a big part of Abbotsford's penalty kill and played a key role for the team during the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. A former captain of the Portland Winterhawks, Cicek has played 147 AHL games over the past three seasons, splitting time with the Canucks and the San Jose Barracuda.

Abbotsford kicks off their season on October 11 in Calgary while their home opener is scheduled for October 25.
