Former Canucks Winger Lands New Coaching Gig In The UK

Jack Skille is headed to the United Kingdom. The former Vancouver Canucks winger was named the newest Head Coach of the Glasgow Clan. Glasgow is part of the UK Elite Ice Hockey League and has lost eight straight games in regulation to begin the campaign.

In the press release, Skille was quoted as saying, "I am honoured to be a part of the Glasgow Clan family. My wife and I are excited for this new chapter together. Throughout the interview process, it was clear to me that the culture and overall vision of the Glasgow Clan align entirely with mine."

Skille's only season with the Canucks came during the 2016-17 campaign. He was signed as a free agent and recorded nine points in 55 games. After the year was over, Skille headed to the KHL and eventually retired with EC Salzburg after the 2020-21 season.

In order to become the Clan's Head Coach, Skille will be leaving his current job as an Assistant Coach for the Schwenninger Wild Wings. Schwenninger has played 13 games this season and sits 11th in the DEL standings. The 2026-27 Wild Wings feature two players with connections to Vancouver in Joacim Eriksson and Curtis Valk.
