Desjardins is one of the greatest coaches in WHL history. He has won the Ed Chynoweth Cup three times, while his 84 post-season wins rank fourth all-time. During his career, Desjardins has won over 500 regular-season games and has helped develop NHL players like Joffrey Lupul, Kris Russell, Darren Helm, Derek Dorsett, and Tyler Ennis.

After two successful years with the Texas Stars, Desjardins took over behind the bench for the Canucks in the 2014-15 season. He spent three seasons with Vancouver, finishing with a record of 109-110-27. Desjardins first campaign was his best with the Canucks, as he recorded 48 wins, while leading Vancouver to the post-season.

Medicine Hat kicks off the 2025 Memorial Cup on May 23 against the Rimouski Océanic. This will be a must-watch for Canucks fans, as defensive prospect Basile Sansonnens plays for Rimouski. Drafted 221st overall in 2024, Sansonnens has become a key part of the Océanic's defence core this season.
