The Canucks will face the Calgary Flames in the first-half of their weekend back-to-back.

The Vancouver Canucks will take part in their first slate of back-to-back games during the 2026-27 season this weekend, starting with a Saturday-night matchup against the Calgary Flames. This is Vancouver's first time facing an opponent not named the Edmonton Oilers during the 2026-27 season, as their first two games, a 6-5 overtime win on Tuesday and 9-7 loss on Thursday, have been against Edmonton. Here are the lineup notes for October 3, 2026.

According to Saturday's morning skate, it looks like new Canucks goaltender Leevi Meriläinen could be getting the start in tonight's game. This would be Meriläinen's first start as a Canuck, though he did come into Thursday's game in relief of Kevin Lankinen. In the 30 minutes he played in on Thursday, Meriläinen stopped 10 of 11 shots sent his way.

Vancouver changed their lineup up big-time after making swaps mid-game on Thursday, with Friday's practice alluding to the fact that Jake DeBrusk could be a healthy-scratch tonight. During today's skate, DeBrusk was confirmed to be out tonight due to illness. Aatu Räty is projected to come in for DeBrusk, with the centre lining up in the middle of Vancouver's fourth-line between Drew O'Connor and Brendan Gallagher.

Projected Lineup:

Öhgren - Cotter - Boeser

Rossi - Pettersson - Karlsson

Bains - Sasson - Lekkerimäki

O'Connor - Räty - Gallagher

Buium - Hronek

Oleksiak - Willander

Pettersson - Schenn
