The Boston Bruins may have tried to acquire Filip Hronek this past off-season.
It appears the Boston Bruins at least explored trading for Filip Hronek this past off-season. In a recently released episode of "Behind the B," an interesting trade proposal appeared. Below is a screenshot from the 12:06 mark of the video.
Screenshot "Behind the B: Minty Fresh Start", YoutubeWhile it is a little difficult to see, the proposed trade with the Vancouver Canucks would be Hronek for defensive prospect Liam Pettersson, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2029 first-round pick. Unfortunately, there are no discussions about this trade during the posted video. Any trade for Hronek would need the player's approval, as he has a no-movement clause.
As for Pettersson, he is a 19-year-old left-shot defenceman set to play this season in the U20 Nationell and the SHL. Listed at 6'2", 170 lbs, he was drafted 61st overall in 2025 by the Bruins. If this trade had gone through, the Canucks would once again have three Petterssons in the organization.
