    After a week of expansion buzz, PWHL Vancouver officially has their first 12 players. Five were signed during the expansion teams’ Exclusive Signing Window, while the remaining seven were picked during the Expansion Draft on June 9. Let’s take a look at the 12 names who will be skating onto the ice at the Pacific Coliseum come the 2025–26 season. 

    Claire Thompson, D 

    Previous PWHL Teams: Minnesota Frost (2024–25) 

    2024–25 Stats: 4G, 14A in 30GP 

    Fun Fact: Named to the Olympic All-Star Team in 2022 with two goals and 11 assists in seven games played. 

    Sophie Jaques, D 

    Previous PWHL Teams: Minnesota Frost/PWHL Minnesota (2023–25), PWHL Boston (2023–24) 

    2024–25 Stats: 7G, 15A in 25GP

    Fun Fact: Has won the Walter Cup in back-to-back seasons with the Frost. 

    Sarah Nurse, F

    Previous PWHL Teams: Toronto Sceptres/PWHL Toronto (2023–25) 

    2024–25 Stats: 6G, 8A in 21GP 

    Fun Fact: Has five international gold medals to her name (IIHF World Championship x3, U18 World Junior Championship x1, Olympics x1). 

    Emerance Maschmeyer, G 

    Previous PWHL Teams: Ottawa Charge/PWHL Ottawa (2023–25) 

    2024–25 Stats: 2.58 GAA, .913 SV% in 18GP 

    Fun Fact: Won Ivy League Rookie of the Year as a Freshman with Harvard University in the 2012–13 season (1.44 GAA, .935 SV% in 20GP). 

    Jennifer Gardiner, F 

    Previous PWHL Teams: Montréal Victoire (2024–25) 

    2024–25 Stats: 5G, 13A in 30GP 

    Fun Fact: Is a two-time NCAA Champion in her five-season collegiate career with Ohio State University. 

    Ashton Bell, D

    Fun Fact: Is a three-time IIHF World Championship gold medalist.
