The Vancouver Canucks enter the 2025 NHL Entry Draft with a pick in each round. Leading up to the draft day, we at The Hockey News will be profiling a different prospect who the Canucks could take with each of their picks. Today's prospect is Linköping HC winger Eddie Genborg, who Vancouver could select 47th overall.
If the Canucks are looking to add some size on the wing than Eddie Genborg could be their guy. Listed at 6'1", 205 lbs, the 18-year-old spent the season split between the J20 and the SHL. He also represented Sweden at the 2025 U18s, helping them capture a Silver medal.
Genborg's biggest strength is his ability to play a physical brand of hockey. He can win board battles at a high rate and is able to create turnovers by separating his opposition from the puck. Genborg is also a pain to deal with in front of the net as he is hard to move once he plants himself just outside the crease.
Another area where Genborg thrives is on the forecheck. He can win races to lose pucks, and when the opportunity presents itself, likes to lay a hit on the opposing defender. Genborg's constant forecheck also produces turnovers, as he can cause his opposition to panic, which can lead to mistakes.

While Genborg is a strong net front presence, he does need to round out his overall offensive game. This includes his playmaking as well as his puck-handling skills. If Genborg can become more of a play driver, opponents are going to have a hard time trying to slow him down once he moves to North America.
In the end, Genborg is the type of prospect Vancouver should be looking to add to their organization. He can play a physical game while also having an impact at both ends of the ice. If available, the Canucks should seriously consider bringing Genborg to the West Coast.
