All reports suggest that Vancouver Canucks forward Arshdeep Bains will make his NHL debut against the Colorado Avalanche tonight.
Bains will join Robin Bawa, Manny Malhotra, and Jujhar Khaira as the only Punjabi to play in the NHL.
He grew up in Surrey and will be living out a dream come true. He's been playing for the team's AHL affiliate in Abbotsford and is their leading scorer. He also won MVP at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic.
The Canucks are looking to respond after yesterdays insane 10-7 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Bains' energy and skill will help the bottom-six forward group.
Bains has a chance to help his childhood team get to the ultimate goal of any hockey player. The Canucks are going for the Stanley Cup this season, and this is his chance to contribute. According to reports, Bains' father is on the trip and will get to see his son play for the team they grew up watching together.
The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. PST.
