Valter Sedin is part of Canada's 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship team.
Valter Sedin has helped Canada punch its ticket to the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The son of Vancouver Canucks Co-President of Hockey Operations Henrik Sedin was part of the squad that beat Jamaica 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship. While Sedin did not start the match, he was subbed in during the 76th minute and recorded one shot attempt.
Sedin has played in two of Canada's four games at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship. He scored a goal against Jamaica during the round-robin, in which Canada finished at the top of Group C. Sedin has also been credited with 14 ground dribbles and one corner won.
With the victory over Jamaica in the quarter-finals, Canada will be headed to the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the first time since 2007. The 2027 tournament will take place in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Canada continues their 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship on August 7 against Mexico, with the winner advancing to the final on August 9.
