    2025 Free Agency Rundown

The Rangers are a team that likely need to make the playoffs in 2025–26 to avoid any drastic moves to their main roster. They already parted ways with forward Chris Kreider and defenceman K’Andre Miller in the off-season and acquired J.T. Miller back in January. New York retooled their blueline slightly by acquiring Scott Morrow and signing Vladislav Gavrikov to a seven-year deal, though many of their forward additions were for depth.

    2025–26 Season Series Preview

The 2025–26 season will be an interesting one for New York, who is currently only one year removed from a Conference Final exit in 2024. They are expected to have a full season of former Canuck Miller in 2025–26, which should increase their offensive stats. One thing to consider is the fact that the Rangers will be embarking on a (semi) new journey this season, as former head coach Mike Sullivan was hired by the team back in May. Many also expect a bounce-back season for 2021 James Norris Memorial Trophy winner Adam Fox, who had a bit of a down season compared to his peers Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar.

The Canucks’ first game against the Rangers will take place on October 28 in Vancouver. This will also be Miller’s first game back in Vancouver since being dealt in January, with many unsure of what kind of reception he’ll receive. After this, Vancouver travels to New York to take on the Rangers on December 16 — only four days before the holiday break.
