The Vancouver Canucks have assigned center Aatu Räty to the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL. Räty played in all three games for Vancouver this season, recording an assist while averaging 9:41 of ice time. He also went 14 for 23 in the faceoff dot, which included going four for five in the defensive zone.

Räty earned his spot on the opening night roster after a strong Training Camp and pre-season. The 21-year-old was acquired by the Canucks back in 2023 as part of the Bo Horvat trade. Last season with Abbotsford, Räty had 52 points in 72 games, while adding an additional four points in six playoff games.

It shouldn't be long before Räty plays his first AHL game of the season, as the Canucks are in Colorado to play the Eagles this weekend. The two teams will play on Friday and Saturday at Blue Arena in Loveland, Colorado. Last season, Abbostodord eliminated Colorado in the first round of the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs, thanks to Chase Wouters' overtime goal in Game 3.
