After taking a minor hit to their point totals by losing to Switzerland and winning against Norway in overtime, Team USA has regained their place in the standings with a 6–1 win against Kazakhstan today. Conor Garland had three shots on net in 14:36 minutes played today, making this one of his shorter games in terms of time spent on ice. While Drew O’Connor didn’t register a shot, he nabbed an assist off the 4–0 goal scored by Matty Beniers. He played 14:46 minutes in the game. Team USA’s last game of the preliminary round will take place on Tuesday at 7:20 am PT against Czechia, the very team they’re looking to surpass in Group B’s standings.
