According to reports, the NHL will likely issue a warning to the Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings ahead of tonight's game.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said on his 32 Thoughts podcast that due to the incident involving Toronto Maple Leafs D-man Morgan Rielly, the NHL will warn the Canucks and Red Wings about anything stemming from Jake Walman's Griddy celebration the last time these two teams played.
"I have no doubt that there were people who said the [Canucks] should've done something about that, or the next time they play, they should do something about that," Friedman said. "I guarantee you that because of [Rielly], both teams are going to be warned before that game."
There was also earlier hate in the game. Nikita Zadorov was suspended for two games due to an illegal check to the head of Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond.
Today, Zadorov said he deserved the suspension and admitted his mistake.
Ian Cole got into a fight with an unlikely partner in Alex DeBrincat in that game, too.
Tonight's game will generate energy from what happened just five days ago.
