Josh Bloom and Ty Young will both start their Conference Finals on Friday.
Two Vancouver Canucks prospects have advanced to the Conference Final in their respective CHL leagues. Josh Bloom and the Saginaw Spirt will take on the London Knights in the OHL's Western Conference Final, while Ty Young and the Prince George Cougars will battle the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL's Western Conference Final. Here is a look at how both prospects have done so far in the 2024 CHL Playoffs.
Josh Bloom
Bloom has been a fixture in Saginaw's top six all playoffs. He currently sits tied for second on the team with nine points in 11 games and is the only player in the OHL to score a shorthanded goal this postseason. Bloom will need to be at his best against the Knights in the Western Conference Final as the two top teams in the OHL go head-to-head, looking to advance to the OHL Final.
Ty Young
Young has been strong as the backup for Prince George during their playoff run. He has a 1-1 record, which carries a .934 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.02. Facing off against a Winterhawks team that has shown they have no issues putting the puck in the net, he may be called upon in relief if the score starts to get out of hand.
