Team Sweden lost 2-1 to Team White at the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase.

For the second day in a row, Vancouver Canucks prospect Melvin Fernström and Team Sweden fell to the USA at the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase. Today's game was much closer than yesterday's 7-2 defeat, as Team USA White beat Team Sweden 2-1. Fernström was held off the scoresheet in this game after recording an assist yesterday.
Overall, this was a challenging game for Team Sweden. They only recorded 16 shots on goal and were outshot by over-double in both the first and third periods. As for Fernström, he once again skated on the third line while also seeing some time on the power play.
Team Sweden won't have to wait long for their next game as they kick off the tournament against Canada on July 31. Unlike the rest of the tournament, this game will take place in Windsor, Ontario. The puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 pm PT.
