Welcome to this edition of THN's Vancouver Canucks 2024-25 Report Card. This recurring 2025 off-season series features a deep dive into how each Canucks player performed last year. Today's article will focus on winger Brock Boeser, who finished the season with 50 points in 75 games.
The 2024-25 campaign was a complicated one for Boeser. He suffered a concussion in November and was constantly mentioned in trade rumours. Despite many reports that Boeser would be playing elsewhere next season, the 28-year-old shocked the hockey world as he signed a seven-year contract extension with Vancouver.
While Boeser wasn't able to match his production from the 2023-24 season, he still finished tied for the team lead among forwards in points. He scored 25 goals for the fourth time in his career, while hitting the 50-point mark for the third consecutive season. This season, Boeser also became the ninth player in franchise history to score 200 goals, while his 73 power play goals rank seventh all-time amongst Canucks players.

When it comes to Boeser, it really was a tale of two seasons. He had 33 points in his first 44 games, but struggled after J.T. Miller was traded, recording 17 points in the final 31 games. As mentioned, several complications arose as the season progressed, which could explain Boeser's decline in points near the end of the year.
"At The End Of The Day, I Think My Heart Was Still In Vancouver": Brock Boeser Speaks On Signing A Seven-Year Extension With The Canucks
On July 1, the Vancouver Canucks and Brock Boeser agreed to a seven-year extension worth $50.75 million. The new deal will keep the 28-year-old in Vancouver for potentially his entire career, as Boeser has been with the organization since 2015 when they drafted him 23rd overall. Ultimately, this is contract is a big win for not just the Canucks and Boeser, but also the fan base, as they have been sharing their excitement on social media since the deal was announced.
Boeser's analytics were not great this season. He finished with a five-on-five Expected Goals For Percentage of 46.95 and a High Danger Scoring Chances For Percentage of 44.82. As for his Wins Above Replacement, his 0.2 ranked tied for 15th among Vancouver skaters in 2024-25.
Based on his play for the entire year, Boeser gets a B- letter grade. While he did have ups and downs, he was still able to produce with 25 goals and 50 points. If Boeser can return to his 2023-24 form, his new contract could become a steal in the near future.
