Vancouver Canucks winger Vasily Podkilzin says the team is ready for an unbelievable experience for the upcoming postseason.

"It should be great. It should be fun. For me, it will be an unbelievable experience," Podkolzin told THN. "At the same time, you have to be ready. You have to want to win every battle and every game."

In 11 games this season, Podkolzin has one assist. He's been playing in a fourth-line role but has shown a great physical aspect to his game.

"It's a priority right now because I'm on the fourth line right now, especially before playoffs, so two or three weeks before playoffs, have to be strong enough to be ready for big battles," he said. "At the same time, you've got to be smart."

Every player on the Canucks will need to know their role as they head into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The young forward has been seen working with Sergei Gonchar at practice. Podkolzin has felt comfortable working with him.

"That's a great opportunity for us to speak in our own language, as well," Podkolzin said about Gonchar. "It's great to [talk about] some little things [in Russian]."

Podkolzin recognizes the vibe around the team is different from his time in the NHL last season. He feels that the Canucks are working on the details of their game rather than essential systematic practice.

"Right now, we are working on some small details," Podkolzin said. "Everybody can play hockey. Everybody can play defense or offense and just little things will make results for us."

Those details will help a player like Podkolzin stay in the lineup during the postseason.
