Logan Thompson made 43 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Vegas Golden Knights dropped an overtime game to the Dallas Stars 3-2 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena.
Brayden McNabb had a goal and an assist, while Jack Eichel also scored for Vegas, who has a 2-1 series lead on Dallas.
“They had a level of urgency that we weren't able to match. Sometimes that happens,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy “At some point you got to get to your game. It just took us too long. Now having said that, we weather it because of Logan. He gave us every chance to get back in the game, and we did so once it was 2-2, then it was a little bit different, but they executed better than we did. You see it overtime. They had more jump, more urgency. We didn't have that level we needed tonight to win a playoff hockey game.”
Thompson’s 43 saves tied a franchise playoff record with Marc-Andre Fleury.
Game 4 is scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m.
