Ivan Barbashev, William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault and Alex Pietrangelo each took maintenance days and Head Coach Bruce Cassidy confirms Nicolas Hague will be out for Game 3.

Pietrangelo had an appendectomy and missed quite a few games down the stretch. At 34 years old he's old enough and has enough experience to be up at game speed at all times so managing his health is wise for the Golden Knights.

Marchessault and Barbashev both played in 82 games this season. Finding times for them to rest and recharge instead of overworking them will be effective if the Golden Knights go on a long playoff run.

Karlsson missed 12 games this season dealing with a lower-body injury. The 31-year-old is similar to Pietrangelo. Both are veterans in the NHL and know how to stay focused and ready each day.

Hague was the final player to miss practice today but the only one to miss it because of an injury. He was forced out of Game 2 due to the injury and will be out for Game 3 after Cassidy confirmed it. Alec Martinez will slot in for Hague once again. In Game 2, Martinez played 15:30 and registered one shot on goal and four blocks.

The Golden Knights have been rock solid defensively and Logan Thompson has been calm and confident in goal. Returning home up 2-0, the Golden Knights have a massive opportunity to give themselves a stronghold on the series. Winning at least one game at home puts the Dallas Stars in a near-impossible situation to win.
