The Vegas Golden Knights have placed defenseman Brayden Pachal on waivers.
The 24-year-old defenseman has played 17 games for the Golden Knights this season, recording one goal. Pachal was the captain of the Henderson Silver Knights last season and played 55 games. Pachal hasn't played a game for the Silver Knights this season.
The transaction comes with a bit of risk. Pachal is a 6'2, 202lbs, right-handed defenseman, a very valuable position for many teams. Contending teams with available roster spots may look to take a swing at him on the waiver wire.
Pachal has an AAV of $775,000 and is on an expiring contract and the Golden Knights would love to be able to keep him for several reasons. Depth defensemen are always important for the playoffs, especially for a team looking to make another deep run. Also considering the injury troubles the Golden Knights have faced this season, losing a defenseman for nothing could hurt.
