Newly appointed captain Quinn Hughes leads a team looking to get back into the playoff picture.

The Vegas Golden Knights will face threats from all teams in the Pacific Division. Some threats are naturally more dangerous than others.
In this article, we take a look at the Vancouver Canucks.
Vegas won the season series 2-1 against Vancouver. The road team won all three meetings last season. Overall, the Canucks are 2-12-3 against the Golden Knights.
Jeff Paterson, site editor of The Hockey News’s Vancouver Canucks site, said the following about the Canucks team:
-“The Vancouver Canucks will go as far as their stars can take them. But a big question remains whether the Canucks possess enough star power to push the team above the playoff bar in a tough Pacific Division and Western Conference. Elias Pettersson (102 points) and new captain Quinn Hughes (76 points) have shown they are among the best players in the league at their positions. Thatcher Demko has shown flashes that he can be an elite goaltender, but needs to prove it for an entire season. The supporting cast includes JT Miller, Brock Boeser, Andrei Kuzmenko and the team feels it has upgraded defensively with the additions of depth forwards Pius Suter and Teddy Blueger along with new defensemen Filip Hronek, Ian Cole and Carson Soucy. The organization believes the 36 games new coach Rick Tocchet had behind the bench as a mid-season replacement should help with systems and structure to start the new season. The Canucks certainly appear to be better on paper. We're about to see if they are better on the ice.”
The Canucks are in a position where they want to compete for a playoff spot. Like Paterson said, it will be a question if the team’s additions can supply enough to the stars to get them back to the postseason. As for challenging Vegas for the Pacific? Probably not this season.
THREAT LEVEL: Non-threatening.
