The Winnipeg Jets have won five straight games versus the Minnesota Wild

The Winnipeg Jets look to follow up their thrilling 2-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks when they play host to the Minnesota Wild Sunday night. They look to advance to a perfect 3-0-0 while the Wild look to bounce back from their shootout loss versus the Kraken on Saturday.

Last season, the Wild fell short of the playoffs with a record of 39-34-9, due to their inconsistent offence, averaging 3.02 goals per game, which ranked 21st in the league. Winnipeg was among the league's top teams, finishing with a 52-24-6 record, bolstered by an impressive 2.41 goals against average—tied for the best in the league with the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. The Jets have won five straight matchups versus Minnesota with all but one of the wins being decided by two or more goals.

Starting goaltender Connor Hellebuyck doesn't have the best history in this matchup as he reps a 7-8-2 record and a 2.81 goals against average in his last 17 games versus Minnesota. He will have the tough task of having to slow down Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov, who has dominated the Jets with a point in all but one of his 11 career matchups against them, recording six goals and 13 assists for 19 points.

Center Mark Scheifele will look to even the playing field as he leads the team with three goals and four points this season, but he hasn't scored in his last four games against the Wild. Winger Kyle Connor will need to step up, and he has an impressive track record in this matchup, totaling six goals and nine assists for 15 points in his last 12 games against Minnesota.

Catch the game on Sportsnet at 5:00 PM MT, or catch the live broadcast on the Oilers Radio Network, including 880CHED. Tickets are extremely reasonable for Jets versus Wild with the lowest pair being sold at roughly C$45 to see two elite NHL teams.
