Although he won't play, Nikolaj Ehlers will accompany the team to St. Louis for Game 6, according to coach Scott Arniel.
Ehlers had been skating alone with the team's strength and conditioning coach while the team played in St. Louis for Games 3 and 4, before practicing without contact when they returned.
Arniel joked about the colour jersey Ehlers would be wearing, not revealing whether he would be practicing with or without contact.
With the recent news that Scheifele will miss at least one game, the Jets will be hoping Ehlers can return soon. The 29-year-old scored 24 goals and 63 points in 69 games, and they've been missing his offence on the road.
His ability to force defenders on their heels due to his speed creates several offensive chances, a trait no other player on the Jets roster possesses. The Jets are hoping to close out the series on Friday, allowing Ehlers and Scheifele additional time to get healthy, but defeating the Blues on the road has proved to be a difficult task.
If they lose, they'll hope Ehlers and Scheifele are available for Game 7.
