The qualified Men's Olympic hockey teams are naming the first six players to their roster, and earlier today, Team Denmark announced Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers as one of those six.

Ehlers has been an integral part of Team Denmark's recent success in hockey and was the driving force of their surprise top-four finish at the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship. He joined the team late but scored three goals in four games.

Throughout his career, the 29-year-old has represented Denmark at the World Championship, World Juniors, WJAC-19, and the U-18s. He's also played in nine Olympic Qualifying games, scoring seven goals and 15 points. It'll be Ehlers' first time playing in the Olympics.

Plenty of uncertainty currently resides with Ehlers and his future with the Jets. Coming off a season where he scored 24 goals and 63 points in 68 games, the unrestricted free agent is expected to test the waters of free agency and will likely receive several top-dollar offers.

Named alongside Ehlers on Denmark are Vegas Golden Knights' Jonas Rondbjerg,  Tampa Bay Lightning's Oliver Bjorkstrand, Washington Capitals' Lars Eller, Carolina Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen and defenseman Jesper Jensen Abo.

The remainder of the rosters are expected to be announced by early January 2026, and it's when Kyle Connor (Team USA), Connor Hellebuyck (Team USA), Josh Morrissey (Team Canada), and possibly Mark Scheifele (Team Canada) will be named to their rosters. The men’s Olympic hockey tournament begins Feb. 11, 2026, in Milan, Italy, with the gold-medal game concluding play on Feb. 22.
