Brantford Bulldogs’ star rookie forward Caleb Malhotra took a week off from being the OHL’s Rookie of the Week, after he had captured the award last week (third of the season). This week, we have a member from the Kingston Frontenacs, who is hoping to get hot in the second half of the season to impress NHL scouts in his draft year.

Frontenacs forward Robin Kuzma was named the OHL’s Rookie of the Week for week 13.

Kingston headed into the week on a winless streak of nine games (0-7-2). In an attempt to turn things around, they went with their “Ace” starter Matthew Minchak for all three of their games, and the draft-eligible prospect stood tall.

The team swept the week, going 3-0 with victories over Windsor and Oshawa (two wins against the Gens). Minchak was a notable standout in the team’s wins, but Kuzma had an offensive presence while playing in the bottom six.

Kuzma was named the first star of the game in Kingston's 7-3 victory over Oshawa last Wednesday. He recorded the first multi-goal game of his OHL career, finishing with two goals and one assist. The 5-foot-11 forward also contributed an assist in each of the Frontenacs' two remaining games of the week. In total, he scored two goals and provided three assists, accumulating five points and finishing with a +4 rating.

The draft-eligible forward is up to nine goals and five assists for 14 points in 33 games this season. He was given a “W” grade by NHL Central Scouting in their preliminary rankings list for the 2026 NHL draft.
