10 OHL players have been named to Canada's Hlinka-Gretzky Cup shortlist
Canada's 27-man roster for the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup training camp has been announced, with 10 OHLers announced for the roster.
The Canadians are looking for a rebound at the tournament after their streak of three consecutive Gold medals were snapped, settling for a Bronze in 2025.
Named to Canada's training camp roster includes six forwards, Brock Chitaroni (Ottawa 67’s), Ryerson Edgar (Niagara IceDogs), Aleks Kulemin (Kingston Frontenacs), Charlie Murata (Flint Firebirds), Camryn Warren (North Bay Battalion), & Jaakko Wycisk (Guelph Storm).
Four defensemen, Kaden Aucoin (Sarnia Sting), Peter Green (Brampton Steelheads), Matthew Henderson (Kingston Frontenacs), & Cooper McAslan (London Knights) were named to the roster.
Notably, the roster includes a dual citizen in Aucoin, who has played internationally at select tournaments for the United States, but appeared for Canada at the WHC-U17 for Canada White.
Canada's roster is led by projected 2027 top prospect Landon DuPont, along with potential top-five pick Alexis Joseph. Also a notable addition is Ben Veitch, a QMJHL forward who played minor junior hockey in Ontario.
Canada's training camp will run between July 27 to August 1 in Edmonton, playing two exhibition teams, playing Sweden on July 30th and Czechia on August 1st.
The Canadians will have a limit of 25 players, including 20 game day skaters and two goaltenders, for their final roster submitted ahead of the tournament's start on August 3rd.
