The Barrie goaltender is expected to step into a bigger role this season with the Colts, and now has his NCAA future locked up.
As the NCAA commitment train continues to roll along, Barrie Colts goaltender Arvin Jaswal has announced via Instagram his decision to join Yale for the 2028-29 season.
Jaswal, 18, is coming off of his rookie OHL campaign, where he served as the backup to Ben Hrebik on a Colts team that went all the way to the OHL final.
In just 24 games, the Pickering native posted some very strong numbers, with a 18-3-3 record, .922 save percentage and 2.45 goals-against average.

(Photo: Terry Wilson/OHL Images)Now, with Hrebik's departure via a trade to Guelph on Tuesday, Jaswal will have a chance to take over the crease in Barrie. It's possible Pittsburgh Penguins prospect and recent import pick Matvei Nikonovich could come in to form a tandem, but it's yet to be seen if he'll come over to North America yet.
Other options for the Colts backup spot could be recent Cornell commit Hagan Bach, or Nico Armellin, who's coming off of a stellar OJHL season with the Toronto Patriots.
Nonetheless, Jaswal has proven he's ready to be thrust into a bigger role, and while there will be some turnover in Barrie after the deep run, they'll look to their goaltender to continue his strong play.
The 6-foot-3 netminder also attended Washington Capitals development camp in July.
