The Greyhounds shore up their blueline with veteran OHL defender Lukas Moore for picks
The Soo Greyhounds have acquired defenseman Lukas Moore from the Kingston Frontenacs along with a 2028 OHL Priority fourth round pick in exchange for a 2030 fourth round pick and 2028 sixth round pick.
Moore, 19, was a fourth round pick of the Frontenacs in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, 73rd overall. Moore appeared in 57 games for Kingston this season, having two goals, seven assists, & nine points.
In 89 games, Moore had four goals, nine assists, & 13 points in his two OHL seasons with Kingston, also appearing in nine postseason games for the Frontenacs.
Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper in a team statement praised Moore as a highly coachable defenseman, but noted the lack of space for Moore in the team's lineup.
We’d like to thank Lukas for his time here in Kingston. He always did what was asked of him and was always striving to get better, but we have a crowded blueline at the moment and this move allows him to get a great opportunity with a good organization in the Soo. We wish him all the best.
The 6'2 right handed defenseman is a depth addition for the Greyhounds defensive group, and although he won't replace the departing Chase Reid, he adds some security for the Soo's right side.
Kingston now makes room at RHD for incoming import Adam Goljer, a second round NHL Draft pick of the Los Angeles out of Slovakia, selected 49th overall.
