Traditionally, the OHL schedule on Family Day is jam-packed. All 20 teams are in action today. This statutory holiday in Canada attracts many families to the arenas to take in the action. Notably, one team has a player making his OHL debut, and his last name is familiar to many hockey fans.

The Kingston Frontenacs will host the Brantford Bulldogs this afternoon. They announced on their official X account that Landon Marleau, the son of NHL all-time games played leader Patrick Marleau, will be making his debut.

Marleau has found an impactful role on the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL. He started the season out west in the BCHL, but shifted over to Ontario early in the season. In 36 games played for the Dukes, Marleau has recorded 21 goals (third-most on the team) and 18 assists for 39 points (fifth-most) in 36 games.

Patrick Marleau is a development coach and team consultant for the San Jose Sharks. Since he was taking part in the Sharks’ development camp on the ice as a coach in the summer of 2025, he forwarded the opportunity to his son, Landon, giving him the chance to train in an NHL setting.

Landon Marleau will wear No. 12 for the Frontenacs, paying homage to his legendary father, Patrick. He will be skating on the team's fourth line beside Matthew Frost and Adam Kelly.

Additionally, Marleau will make his debut, sporting quite the black eye.
