The Sudbury Wolves triumph over the formidable Barrie Colts Sunday afternoon, with an impressive 7-2 win, clinching their spot in the 2025 Ontario Hockey League playoffs.
Sudbury's win was led by their star winger, San Jose Sharks top prospect, Quentin Musty.
Musty was the game's first star, scoring a hat trick and five points. It marks the third time this year that he has recorded five or more points in a game and the tenth time in his OHL career.
The first two goals Musty scored were perfect examples of the high-end individual skillset the Hamburg, New York native possesses. His ability to beat defenders or goalies 1-on-1 is elite. He has been a highlight-reel-maker throughout his OHL tenure.
San Jose's 2023 first-rounder held out to start the year in hopes that Sudbury would trade him. Musty returned to the Wolves' lineup at the beginning of November, and it's been business as usual for him, except for missing December due to an injury. He's up to 27 goals and 27 assists for 54 points in 31 games.

The Wolves sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference as we head into the final two weeks of the regular season. They are five points back of Brampton for fifth place and one point up on the Niagara IceDogs for seventh.
Sudbury found themselves in a rut not too long ago. They are on a four-game winning streak after their Sunday win over Barrie, but had been 3-9 since the start of February.
Sudbury's current four-game win streak has all come against playoff teams: Oshawa, Barrie, Brampton, and Niagara.
This is the third consecutive year that the Wolves have made the playoffs. Last year, they defeated the Steelheads in the first round, winning in five games, but were then swept in the second round by the North Bay Battalion.
Sudbury has never won an OHL championship throughout their 53-year-old franchise history, dating back to when the team played in the OHA and OMJHL.
The last time they came close to winning it all was in 2006-07, which was a cinderella run for the organization.
The Wolves finished the regular season in sixth place with a record of 29-30-9. They took down the IceDogs in the first round in five games, then swept the No. 1 seed in the East Barrie, and won the Eastern Conference Championship series against the Belleville Bulls in six games.
The team was led by NHL veteran Nick Foligno who led the team in points during the regular season (88) and in the playoffs (29). Goaltender Sebastian Dahm was also a rock in between the pipes, leading the playoffs in save percentage with a .934%.
Sudbury's incredible run sadly ended in the finals by the hands of the Plymouth Whalers, led by "The Real Deal" James Neal, and goaltender Michal Neuvirth.
