The 17-year-old split last season between the NAHL and USHL.

The Saginaw Spirit have found plenty of success over the years bringing in some American talent, and they hope they've found another gem with their most recent signing.

Kade Meyer will join the OHL side for the 2026-27 season, who has experience with the USNTDP as well as some top development programs in the U.S. in his young hockey career.

The 17-year-old blueliner split last year between the Waterloo Blue Hawks of the USHL and the Janesville Jets of the NAHL last season, posting a combined two goals and eight assists in 42 games across both teams.

The Minocqua, Wisconsin, native made the U.S. team for the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he joined his now-Spirit teammates Levi Harper and Nikita Klepov en route to a gold medal.

Meyer developed in the Team Wisconsin program, and also played a season with the Little Caesers 16U program. He's committed to join the NCAA's University of St. Thomas for the 2028-29 season.

Now, he'll get to play for a Saginaw side that always has aspirations of being a top OHL team.
