Marco Mignosa will head stateside for 2026-27 to join Penn State University of the NCAA.

After an overage season that saw him sit top-six in the OHL in points, Marco Mignosa is taking his talents to the NCAA, committing to join Penn State University next season.

Mignosa, 21, has spent his entire five-year junior career with the Soo Greyhounds after being made a second-round pick in the 2021 OHL draft.

The Toronto native really broke out in 2024-25, going from a solid producer to a top player in the league, with his 85-point campaign getting him drafted into the NHL by the Tampa Bay Lightning as an overager.

This past season, Mignosa put up 89 (35+54) points in 65 games, good for a tie for sixth in the league in points. That production carried over to the playoffs, where he had seven goals and 10 assists in 10 games.

After the Greyhounds' season ended, he signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, but never suited up for a game with the team.

Because of that, he retained his college eligibility, and has chosen to go that path now as he joins an ambitious Penn State program.
