Carson Rehkopf led the charge against Erie with a six-point performance last night.

Seattle Kraken prospect Carson Rehkopf eclipsed the 30-goal mark for the third time in his OHL career as a result of a six-point game against Erie last night.

From the start of the game, Rehkopf was dominant scoring the opening goal just 42 seconds after the puck drop. He had completed his hat trick before the halfway point in the evening and recorded three goals and three assists by the end of the night.

Rehkopf is a proven scorer at the OHL level having hit the 30-goal mark each of the last three seasons. He has never scored fewer than 30 points during the regular season and was one of only two players to score more than 50 goals last year.

This is the second time in Rehkopf's OHL career that he has recorded six points during a game. The Vaughn native's last six-point outing occurred on Feb. 4, 2024, in a game against the Soo Greyhounds. He scored two goals and added four assists in the contest.

At his core, Rehkopf is a goal scorer, something Seattle needs based on this year's results. Seattle's highest goal scorer, Jaden Schwartz, has 18 goals this year placing him 70th on the NHL scoring lists.

While it's normally otters that eat fish, on this occasion the Steelheads torched the Erie Otters by a final score of 10-3.

While Rehkopf led the team in points, it was a solid game for multiple Steelheads players. Draft-eligible forward Porter Martone and Pittsburgh Penguins' seventh-round pick Finn Harding scored a goal and added four assists for five-point nights.

Dallas Stars' prospect Angus MacDonell also got in on the action scoring a goal and adding three assists while Calgary Flames' prospect Luke Misa scored a pair of goals.

More players could be listed, but this is enough to show why so many analysts thought Brampton would be a team to watch coming into the year. They are loaded with elite offensive talent.

Yet, despite their obvious talent, the team has yet to find their groove this season. They sit seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 3-4-3-0 record in their last ten games.

However, this is certainly a team that will cause problems for their opponents if they find their stride heading into the playoffs. Their next game is this afternoon against the Kingston Frontenacs.
