Of the eight match-ups to kick off the 2024-25 QMJHL playoffs, only one battle has made it to Game 7. The No. 3 Drummondville Voltigeurs and the No. 16 Halifax Mooseheads will play for the chance to move on to Round 2 tonight.

On one hand, the Drummondville Voltigeurs have been the most explosive offensive team this playoffs with overage center Luke Woodworth (3+10) and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect winger Ethan Gauthier (6+6) both scoring in the double digits so far. However, the team has struggled mightily in depth scoring -- with only four players scoring at a rate of half a point per game or above.

On the other hand, the Halifax Mooseheads have mostly relied on goaltending to help carry the team, with goaltender Jacob Steinman boasting a .926 save percentage across these six games so far. However, a 6-0 loss in Game 6 might just imply that the Voltigeurs have found a way to break through.

All in all, given the team's more structured offense, overall playoff experience and recent breakthrough -- I'd imagine the Voltigeurs take Game 7. However, should the Halifax Mooseheads win, I'd be interested to see how the team's young core takes a step.
